I am using xp home edition. Is there a way to set a password in order to
share files with certain users only and not all of the users on the
usergroup? Thanks.

No. Password protection is not provided by any version of Windows NT.
Instead set permissions to allow certain users access to the files and to
deny other users access to the files.

There are programs that will let you create encrypted "drives".
I use cypherix LE to store passwords etc.
If you want multiple simultaneous access across the network,
that may not do it. If you just want to hide your porn collection from
the kids, it may be adequate.
