Password Expiration Message

James Bailey

The users on our network get the password expiration message like normal, 14
days before their password expires. But after they change the password the
countdown continues until the last day, then goes away and everything's
fine. I found this article pertaining to Windows 2000 Server
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=817701 and it says to install the latest
service pack. I can't do that on Windows 2003 Server. Is there any way to
fix this manually? I haven't been able to find anything about it for 2003
Server. It's happening at an alarming rate. It's not just a user here and
there, I'm getting calls about it once a week.

Thanks for your help.

The message is gererated by the client os. What version? make sure they are
also the latest service pack. Are they logging off or just locking the
workstation? Have them log off and back on.
