When I turn on my computer I get a dialog box asking for a password. But I do
not recall setting up a password. And if I click on the OK button it it will
open the account . How can I stop this box from opening when starting the
computer?

Since this apparently is a sudden change, did you install a new program
or printer? If so, it probably installed .Net 1.1 framework. Go to
Windows Update and do a Custom Update and look at non-critical updates.
There is one for .Net 1.1 that will solve the issue.

Otherwise, you can set the computer to logon automatically to your
desired user account manually:

Configure Windows to Automatically Login (MVP Ramesh) -

To bypass this...
1. Click Start
2. Select Run
3. type in control userpasswords2
4. Click OK
5. Highlight the account you want to autologon with
6. Uncheck the "User must enter a username and password to use this computer"
7. Click OK
8. You will be prompted to enter and confirm your password

The next time you restart your computer you will be automatically logged in!

Hope this helps,

Samson
