passowrd protect

I'm being told that I have password protected a web page
of mine, but I never did it. Yet, on the form submission,
it stops and asks for a user and pw, then never submits
and goes to my confirm page.

The only area I would thing to password prtect using fpage
is in server settings, of which mine are greyed out. Can
anyone help? The page is within a pw protected directory,
so I don't want to share that right now. And, I am
already in that area when trying to submit it, and the
page appears to want something else for user/pw than the
protected directory, because, like I said, I never tried
to protect the page. What could have caused this?

Thanks.

And ask them what? I have been in a battle with them for
a few days over this. They say it's my end, plus they
also have been saying that their linux does not send out
email from fpage, like...even for a simple form result?

Why do you say I need to reach them? Is there a specific
question I should pose...regarding "server settings" in my
fpage? I need more specifics, and...

Thanks!

you've got a bad host.
I think the reason it's asking for the password is because you're trying to
write to a file with your form submission.
when you get a new host make sure they put you on a windows machine with the
proper and updated FrontPage extensions and 99% of your potential problems
will be preempted. IMHO(because it worked that way for me).

Do they have the FP Server Extensions installed and Email transport enabled on your site?
- if not you can not use FP forms handler

If so, provide a URL for the form that is not working

if you are microdose.com I would understand that the
extensions are installed on your server / host.
