What kind of partitions should I make to install Solaris?

And what is the best boot manager that can detect it?

Just leave the space un-allocated, Solaris will use it.

As to which boot manager - What other O/S(es) are you trying to multi-boot?

The other OS (es) are Windows XP and Suse Linux
