Partition Magic Drive Question

I'm about to install Partition Magic 8.0. I want to add a partiton to
my hard drive to store data on.

I have a DVD rom and a CD burner (drives D and E respectively). When
I partition what does Partition Magic do about renaming these drives
or do I have to do it myself? I thought I read somewhere something
about having to remove these drives before partitioning, did that mean
like open the computer and physically unhook them? Is there anything
I have to do about these before I partition?

As I understand it if you introduce a new partition XP will give it the next
available drive letter, in your case "F". If you want to re-assign the drive
letters afterwards you need to go to disk management, but be aware programs
installed from DVD or CD may look for the original drive letters especially
games.
