Partition Crash

I've Windows XP Pro installed on a Primary HD and while I'm working on it,
the power gone out, and when the power came back again, I found that I had
lost the partitions [C: & F:] from my Secondary HD (which has Windows XP
installed on its 1st partition [C:]), so it became no longer can boot from
it, I tried to restart my PC several times using the Primary HD, and finally;
one time when windows boots up, it discovered that something wrong with
partition [C:] in the Second HD and solved the problem for that partition
only and retrieved its label and everything was on it so the Secondary HD
became bootable, but still that partition [F:] has the label [Local Disk] and
no details neither for Total Size, Free Space, nor File System, and when I
tried to open it, a message says "The Disk in drive F is not formatted. Do
you want to format it now?".
I know I can format it and the parition will be usable, but the problem is
that partition has a very important files I need to retreive.
So, how can I recover this partition? is there any DOS command I can use
like that Windows used to recover that partition [C:] in Seconary HD.
Please reply, I'm really need you help!!!!!!!!!!!

download acronis disk director
it can view damaged or lost partitions.
but in order to repair it, you will need
to buy a copy.

since you are managing several partitions,
it is a handy piece of software to have.
i am have it and use it regularly to
manage my partitions as needed........

No, there are no DOS commands you can use to recover from this. You need
3rd party data recovery tools, or the services of a data recovery company.

To recover, you must have a different location to save the recovered files
to. Use another disk; they are inexpensive. The safest arrangement is
to remove the damaged disk from the system and attach it to another system
with the recovery software and lots of space.

If the data is of real value, be prepared to remove the drive and give it to
professionals. This can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars, depending
on the extent of damage, the amount of data recovery needed and the time
available.

Google "data recovery utilities" and you should see a variety of products.
Often there's a demo mode that will show what it can do in your case, so you
can tell if the product will work before you actually pay for it.
