Parent and Subweb Password Issues

I have password protected a subweb in Frontpage 2002. I was under the
impression that when you click on a link in the parent web to your subweb
that the username and password prompt would come up. On my page, however,
when open the parent web, I recieve the username password prompt before I
ever enter the entire site. I want the parent web to be accessable to anyone
and the subweb to be protected. What changed need to made?

Then you have to set unique permissions on the subweb only.

Your host will have to support subwebs and unique permissions under the FP Server Extensions
