paragraph spacing tools in PowerPoint 2007

what happened to the increase/decrease paragraph spacing tools in PowerPoint
2007

the facility provided home/paragraph/line spacing/options is to cumbersome
and far too many clicks for the new try and see interface!

I am not sure why you say it is too many clicks. If you want one of the
pre-sets, it works just like any other part of the ribbon (click and drag to
select what you want.) If you want a particular setting that is different
than the presets, it works pretty much the way it always has in Word.

Getting to it isn't so bad, but it's not live AND the Preview button we used to
have is gone ... that's really unfortunate.

If you put the Paragraph icon on your QAT, it will be much easier. (I
completely agree that it's a PITA to get to, so shat's what I did. Don't put
just "line spacing" on your QAT because it just opens the dropdown thing.)

hi Kathy

the point is 1, 1.5, 2 lines etc is fine for word but in powerpoint you want
to be much more specific. the old facility you could click up and down in
minute increments to get the look you want, now you have to suck it and see.
even with the paragraph tool on the QAT it is difficult, there is no preview,
and if you want spacing other than increments of 6 pixels you have to type
min the # with trial an error. for such an important feature i hope MS will
quickly at least restore the previous functionality, there are less usefull
features on the ribon that could be downgraded. if you could incorporate the
new preview features it would be great.

i hope the next release will allow us to customise ribons as we could for
toolbars.

I agree. The dialog itself sucks. I'm all for consistency when it makes
sense, but I don't appreciate getting a rewarmed Word paragraph and line
spacing dialog (and without a preview button or modeless "real-time"
behavior). It definitely needs work.

I don't understand why Microsoft would just REMOVE this feature and not allow
people to re-add it? This was one of the buttons on the formatting toolbar by
default I believe in Office2003, and to just get rid of it and not let people
re-add it is just incomprehensible.

Has anyone found a way to highlight an area of text and increase/decrease
the spacing in steps? Going through a separate dialog is going to be
extremely time consuming and troublesome.
