In Outlook 2003 the icon which identifies messages that contain an attachment
is a paper clip. When a message is highlighted in the Inbox window all the
other fields display in reverse video making it easy to read the text. The
paper clip icon does not reverse and displays as a grey icon on a blue
background. This makes the icon almost impossible to see. The visual clue
to look for an attachment is easily missed. This is a problem when your
mental use-case is "look for the message that had the attachment".
Since moving to Outlook 2003 from Outlook 2000 I have had many occurances of
missed attchments because I failed to get the visual clue when the message
was highlighted.
