Panasonic DMP KX-2023 Splitting Lines of Text

We have downloaded and installed the latest driver for our Panasonic KX-2023
(DMP), but we are experiencing the problem of what seems to be erratic
splitting of lines of text. For example, most of a printed document appears
fine, but on one or two lines, the text is split by a space between the
upper half and the lower half of the letters. This even occurs on the test
page.

There are no conflicts in the system folder and the latest driver from
Panasonic has been installed. We have also tried several printer ribbons.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
