Palmapp.dot - What is this for?

This is installed by my Handspring Visor Deluxe, a Palm Pilot clone. What
does this file do and will I miss it if I delete it?

Do a Google search on "palmapp.dot" and look
for the third topic from the top titled
Summary of Files Installed by Palm Desktop 3

Essentially, it's an Office suite emulation package.
It seems that at one time, you or a previous owner
of your handheld, gave Office emulation a try.
When they deleted the software, palmapp.dot was
not removed.

If it's not hurting anything, why not leave it alone?
It may be connected to something still... You have
8 MB of RAM so memory shouldn't be a problem
on your device.

Do a Google search (www.google.com) and
search on "palmapp.dot". Look for the third "hit"
from the top titled "Summary of Files Installed
by Palm Desktop 3". Review the details.

Essentially, palmapp.dot is part of an Office
suite emulation package designed for Palm
and Handspring devices. It supported Word
and Palmapp.xls supported Excel.

It seems that at some point you, or a previous owner
of your handheld, gave Palm Office emulation a try.
When they deleted the software, palmapp.dot was
not removed.

It's obvious that it's been on your unit for a while.
If it's not hurting anything, why not leave it alone?

On the other hand it may cause you some problems in Word and as you would
have noticed if you were using it, you can move the add-in from the startup
folder and it will go away.
