Does all synchronisation fail or just the Calendar? Have you tried
reinstalling Hotsynch and are you using the latest versions of Hotsynch and
Palm Desktop?

Also, as the native Palm Desktop/Hotsync does not sync to Outlook, you must
be using a third party conduit - such as Chapura Pocketmirror or Pumatech
Intellisync. Check with the conduit manufacturer's support....this is not an
Outlook issue.
