I recently installed win xp pro in my pc and it does not
work good(it is a bit slow!).The problem is with virtual
memory.in system>advanced>virtual memory>advanced it
gives me a message that "windows created a temporary
paging file ....." and at the end it says that paging
file size for all disks=0 but i have a custom page file
size 1 GB.Please sb help me!

Hi,

Disable the VM, reboot. If pafefile.sys still exists on any drive, delete
it. Reenable VM, set your custom settings if you like, reboot once more.

Also, if you have Intel Application Accelerator installed on this system,
uninstall it and upgrade to the newest version. Older versions are not
compatible with WinXP and are known to cause this issue.

Any advice given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS. Personal attacks, nitpicking & criticism
of anything but content will NOT be responded to. Those
posters should spend their time taking the test @

Read up at www.aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.htm and the Problems section. One
likely cause is putting the page file on a different drive and not
leaving a nominal (2/50 MB say) on C:
