Page file issues

I'm having a problem with one computer under my administration. It seems to
not want to create the paging file.

Upon/boot login I receive the message:

Windows created a temporary paging file on your computer because of a
problem that occurred with you paging file configuration when you started
your computer. The total paging file size for all disk drives may be
somewhat larger than the size you specified.

There's only one hard drive one the computer (Dell Optiplex) with 7.54GB out
of 20GB. Local user and Administrator have full access to the whole drive
and ownership of the drive.

Virtual Memory Settings are set to:

Custom Size
Initial 512MB
Maximum 1024MB

I've also tried it with a System Managed page size. Total RAM on the system
is 512MB.

I'm not seeing the temporary paging file anywhere.

Thanks!
Matt

That thread is quite extensive and thurough and intersting but not
conclusive. Give it a try and let us know what your results are.
