Pagination & printing

My document has frontmatter pp. i - xxvi followed by text starting at p.1.
The print dialogue box would not accept pages i-xxvi but did print them when
I entered 1-26 as the page range. When I go to print my text, page 1 appears
as p.27 in the task bar, but when I enter p.1 as the the print range it
prints my very first page i, and if I enter 27 it prints p.27 of the text.

What do I enter in the print dialogue box to get my text printed from page 1?

When a document contains more than one section, you have to include the
section number. See the "Print specific pages and sections" portions of the
"Print a document" Help topic or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/PrintMultipleSections.htm.

I battled that recently myself. Drove me nuts until I searched Google and
found a site with all kinds of helpful hints like that. Once I learned how,
printing the various sections was a snap.
