pages with one line only

I merged two large documents and ended up with lots of pages with only one
line on each page and short of deleting that one line and having a blank
page, I don't know what to do. I can't move that one line up or down. I have
tried to format the full doc and it didn't help. Help- What Do I Do?

This is a complete shot in the dark, but if you click the "Show/Hide" Icon on
the Standard Toolbar [it looks like a backwards "P" with a "T" stuck to its
right side], does it show anything... my guess, and it's just an amateur one,
is that perhaps page breaks were inserted somehow?

Anyway, perhaps that's something to try.

In the errant document, click on Format in the menu and select Paragraph from
the drop down menu. Click the tab in the dialog box that says Line and Page
Breaks and see if the Widow/Orphan Contol check box has a check. If not
click it on as it sounds like Widow/Orphan Contol is off.

If it is on, I would experiment with the Keep with Next formatting option on
the same page as Widow/Orphan Contol. Help will give details on using this
option.

Very likely one or more of the original documents had manual page breaks.

delete all manual page breaks by searching for ^m and replacing with
nothing.
