Pagefile

Lately I am experiencing a weird problem with pagefile.
I have 2 HDDs and running XP SP2 and 1 gig memory. I have pagefile of 1500MB
in the 2nd HDD and have set 75MB only in HDD1 where my OS is located. When I
defrag the various bars show you all kinds of info including the size of
your pagefile. Somehow, someway the pagefile in HDD disappears even though
when I go back into the settings it shows I have set it @ 75MB, yet on the
tab that shows much I have allocated it shows 1500MB, instead of 1575MB.
What's going on here? Is this yet another SP2 problem or something?

It is not uncommon for XP to not create the small pagefile on C when
there is another large page file on another partition. No need to
worry. This is normal.

If you have a substantial page file on a second drive (and BTW I suggest
economising by setting the initial size, only, of that *way* down, say
100 MB), then the one on the C: drive is only brought into existence if
needed in some emergency condition. It is necessary to have the
potential for it, but it will most likely never be started

OK thanks for the clarification.
