Two pagefiles?

Dale

This is perplexing, I have turned off the pagefile in windows, however in
the root of C:\ there is still a pagefile showing after reboot. However the
file is not visible in the administrator account or in the repair console or
in safe mode. Is the file corrupt? Defrag tool also shows two green bands
of unmovable files (only one when the pagefile is turned off). Any ideas
how to delete this, attempts to date to delete the file after setting the
pagefile to none have failed. Windows XP prof with sp2 loaded.

Thanks in advance.

DO NOT turn off paging in XP. At best it will waste a lot of your RAM
to no purpose whatever, at worst you may get crashes. Read up at

best thing would be to turn it back on in the same location then turn it off
again. IF you really want it off as has been said it will not speed things
up
