hi

after i install the windows XP pro on USB external hard drive there is no
page file being created and while booting it is displaying that the page
file is not created and the windows is creating the page for u temporary

and after we give the setting for increasing it , the allocated space is not
takimg and also when i look into the drive there is no pagefile.sys file on
C:\ drive location

please help me how to create a new page file and assign it to my system and
use that file

i have even tried creating a new file with name pagefile.sys in that
location and then restarted the system, but not worked

please help me in creating the pagefile in windows XP pro which is installed
on the USB external hard drive of 250 GB with two parttions

looking forward for the reply

My point exactly...Lots of things that aren't supported /can/ be done,
but since they aren't supported, the results are unpredictable, and the
consequences are the sole responsibility of the user.

yes Gordon, according to that site as well according to the microsoft the
support for the USB external hard drive for windows xp pro from sp1 has
started

and i have done the same procedure, but the problem was the page file is not
creating i.e. pagefile.sys in c drive

i think this is because that the system is not able to recognize properly
the partitions and it is not creating that

so if u know that please return to me

thank u

have you tried manually creating it? (Right-Click on My Computer, choose
properties, go to the Advanced Tab. Click on "Settings" under performance,
go to the Advanced Tab, and at the bottom, under Virtual memory click on
"change")

Does your computer have an internal hard drive? Why aren't you using
that?

see Gordon after installaing that, i have searched for how to create a page
file into the external hard drive

but i found in microsoft that it is not possible to create page file on
removable media

but even then i am trying it to find and i am sure that there is some
procedure for doing that and i will get it soon by somehow or other

if i am using that then why this question rises and how can i get this type
of idea

do some research man

donot blindly follow what the others give to u and all other

if we think like that we can't achieve any thing and we can't go further in
our field
