Pagefile size

Hi,

I have a Windows Server 2003 which I am trying to increase the size of the
pagefile. The server has 256Mb RAM and I am trying to set the pagefile to
512 Mb.

If I set the size manually to 512Mb it accepts the value but after reboot it
is 384 Mb (1.5x RAM).

Is there any way to get the pagefile to be larger than 1.5x physical memory?

Thanks,
Warren.

Hi Denis,

I am setting the size correctly. I have been working with windows servers
for many years and have not seen this problem before.

I have configured a custom page file with an initial size of 1024 and a
maximum size of 1024. However, it reports in the box below under 'Total
paging file size of all drives' a value of 384 Mb which is 1.5x256 (the
amount of physical memory).

I have rebooted for the new page file size to take effect but it is not
allocating any more than 384 Mb.

Does this make any sense?

Thanks,
Warren.
