Looking for discussion on how admins feel about the page file settings.

Should it be set manually and to what size in relation to the memory in
the machine?

Or do you think the OS should handle the page file on its own?

My questions are releavant to xp pro sp 2 running on P4 machines with
at least 512 MB of ram running office applications and development
stuff. No gaming or anything like that.

The definitive answer would be from the late Alex Nichol.

Virtual Memory in Windows XP:

I personally assign a minimal but no maximum and place it on a separate
drive.
