PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Guest

Hi guys, I am running a HP machine with an image of XP professional
and any time I shut it down I get a blue screen with
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA on the top, can anyone help?
no new hardware has been added or software.
Could it be dodgy RAM?

Cheers
Gary

When a "Page fault" occurs, the hardware cannot do anything else with
the instruction that caused the fault, thus it usually transfers to virtual
memory.
Try setting virtual memory to letting the system manage,+ purchase more
ram memory.

Andrew your response is totally incorrect, as usual. Please go away.

Yes, defective RAM is one of the listed possible causes of your error.
But there are others as well.

Start with MVP Jim Eshelman's web page for STOP errors at
http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm and click on the "50: Page
Fault..." link in the left side column.

If you need additional assistance with this error please post some
additional details back here including the 4 parameter values that
accompany the STOP code and any file or module names mentioned in the
error message.

Good luck
