Page Set-Up will not take my margin changes. What do I do???

Ocassionally, I receive documents in Word that doesn't allow me to change the
page margins. I have attempted to change them in Page Set-Up as well as
trying to manually change them, however, the margins keep defaulting back to
what they were when I opened the document. The Help option is NOT helping
and I've spent countless hours over a period of time trying to solve this
problem. Can someone lead me in the right direction. PLEASE!!!

Hello-

First, it would be most helpful to know what version of Word you're using
and what is the 'source' of the documents you "receive". Are they Read Only
or Protected?

As a start, make sure that the doc is saved to your hard drive and open it
from there... Not an attachment, a copy on floppy or CD, etc.

When you change the margin settings are you saving the file afterwards? If
you close the file without saving changes the margin settings are being
discarded.

If this doesn't solve the problem, please reply with as much detail as
possible so someone has an idea what they're working with.

Are you trying to make them go beyond your printers limitations?
