Page numbers

Hi,

I'm putting several documents together for my coursework and want to number
each page in the different sections e.g. 1.1, 1.2 then 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc .
Can anyone tell me how to do this please? I've tried Word help but it
doesn't have this option & I don't want to number chapters because they are
entirely different sections.

You could add the Section field in front of NumPages, but note that it will
not be picked up by the TOC (if any).

Thanks for the help. Could you please tell me how I add the section field?
Not that I haven't got a clue or anything!!! I don't have a contents page -
too much info!

an add-in called "DocBuider for Microsoft Word" can solve this problem. you
can get it from www.wordaddin.com

Thanks for this. I couldn't get it the way I wanted but it was worth trying!

I tried this but when it had downloaded I couldn't open it cos the file was
corrupted.
