I have a manual that I am trying to add pages. However, I want the table of
contents to be one style (i) and the body of the manual another style (1) and
last, the appendices to be a third style (A). Can you please tell me how
this can be accomplished in the same document.

Thank you, Robert.

Hello Sammy

the three areas must be separated by section breaks. Then make sure
there is a PAGE field in all the relevant headers (if they are linked,
which they are by default when you create new sections, then you only
need to insert a PAGE field once).

Now, with the cursor somewhere in each section, go to <Ribbon> Insert |
Headers and Footers | Page numbers | Format Page numbers. Choose the
desired format and set to "Start with" to the first item in this format.
