Hi

I have a word document with a hyper link to a specific part of the document
(no problem) but sometime people will use a hard copy so I have a bit which
says find this on Page 50 (or what ever number) - however as the brochure is
updated the page number will change and I want the word doc to auto update
the page number (eg find on page 51) -

Is this possible and if so how - any help greatly appreciated

Rexmann

ps. I am running Word XP

Instead of typing in a static page number, insert a
cross-reference by clicking on Insert | Reference |
Cross-reference | Reference type: <your choice> | Insert
reference to: Page number | OK.

To add to what garfield-n-odie has said, there is a check box (enabled by
default) in the Insert | Reference | Cross-reference dialog to "Insert as
hyperlink," so this gives you both references in one. If you're already
using a hyperlink, then presumably you have a bookmark at the target
position (or you're linking to a heading, numbered item, etc.). If not, and
if the target is not one of the types of items automatically shown in the
Cross-reference dialog, you'll need to bookmark it first.
