Page is rotated sideways

When I create a new Word document, the page appears rotated sideways, so the
character strings run up-down instead or left to right as it should be. ¿Is
there is a way of correcting this? I already tried uninstalling and
installing again. This began when I installed Adobe Acrobat 7.0.
