page is not opening to full screen

I am having trouble with pages not opening. For example, when I click on a
link, I get a "bar" with the website information; I have to click on the
"maximize" button to get the full page! I don't know how this happened and
I don't know how to resolve it. Any help/suggestions would be greatly
appreciated

That bar is actually a window. Stretch that window out to the desired size-
don't use maximize.
Close other IE windows (if any were open) Close that window last.

Or, to get a true maximized window every time...
