Page Framing

David

Had to rollback some settings on my Windows 2000 PC. IE 6 now loads without
properly framing pages, i.e backgrounds missing, page has frame sliders at
the foot and in other odd places, etc.. Do I need to reset or reload
something? I have checked that the IE 6software is up to date.

Can anyone help please? Thanks, David

What "settings" did you "rollback" and why?

Are you running Win2K SP4? What was your Windows version when IE6 was
installed (e.g., Win2K SP2)?

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed? What
third-party firewall (if any)?

Installed and ran "Advanced WindowsCare V2 Personal" on automatic settings
which started the problem. Then used the automatic backup restore function
to try and reverse, as had lost internet connectivity as well. This worked
but has left IE not working properly as posted.

Running Win2k SP4, which was running before this started. Don't know what
version was running when IE6 installed.

Running AVG 7.5.524 and ZoneAlarm 7 .

I don't doubt that for a minute! Think your Registry needs "cleaning" or
"repairing"? Read http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099 and draw your own
conclusions.

If that app doesn't create usable back-ups of the Registry changes it makes
so that you can undo the changes, you may have screwed the pooch, David.

Uninstalling/reinstalling IE6 *might* help but you'll need to know when IE6
and your Service Packs were installed to do this successfully: Before you
can uninstall IE6, you must first uninstall any Service Packs that were
installed after IE6 was installed (in reverse order). Otherwise, you're
looking at a format & reinstall, I'm afraid.

Good luck!
