Page errors

Got a user with Win 98 SE and using IE6. Whenever the person tries to get
onto the Internet they get 'The page cannot be displayed' I have cleared out
all temp files and cookies, checked the host file, checked the IP settings
(removed and re-added). Pinged 127.0.0.1 got a reply but pinged yahoo.com
and no reply (I would summise they may block this kind of thing). The only
thing that has happened in the last week is the user has been away and his
office was locked?

Any ideas?
