page can not be found

lately when I go to a site and click on a link to start a
download I get the error page cannot be found http
404 .... this never use to happen . does anyone know how
to resolve this please? (yes I am on an xp home os)

Error 404 means that the site you are trying to connect

to no longer exits or maybe it is down for maintenance.
