Page breaks

Can anyone enlighten me to the use of page breaks ?

I thought if I were to "insert page break" in a spreadsheet where the print
range had already been established
the printer would automatically divide the print to two pages

but this does'nt happen

What am I doing or not doing?

Go to Page Setup, tab Page and make sure Fit to x by x
pages is not ticked.
