Packaging Presentation as E-Mail Attachment

Can PowerPoint 2003 presentations be packaged with
PowerPoint Viewer as an e-mail attachment like it can be
packaged on a CD?

Not really, as the viewer package is quite large, which also needs to be
installed. Along with your presentation, would more than likely exceed your
ISP's max allowable transfer file size.

You'd need to use the Copy to Folder option inside the Package for CD
dialogs instead of Copy to CD. Then you'd take all those files in the
"copied to" folder, use something like WinZip to zip 'em up, and send
that along in an email.

As Michael explained, though, that file would become pretty large, as
the Viewer files add, oh, 3 to 3.5 MB to your PPT files.

Perhaps a better solution is to use the Copy to Folder to get all your
PPT and linked files, but don't include the Viewer in the copy. Then you
could zip all your PPT/linked files, send those to your recipients via
email, and include a link so they can download and install the Viewer
themselves.

Alternatively, save your PPT file as a Web Page and choose MHT/MHTML.
This is a "web archive" file. It's like an HTML file, but everything's
all in one big file as opposed to one small HTML file plus a bunch of
linked files. It makes emailing pretty easy, and the MHT should retain
most (if not all) of your animations and transitions. You'd definitely
want to check its look after creating the file before you send it,
though.
