WHere is my 25 numbered code that was not on the back of
the jewel case? (they came in paper sleeves with no
documentation
 
This sounds like an OEM version? In which case you should consult the
supplier of the PC with which it was supplied.
If it is pre-installed, then you can recover the number (from current Office
versions at least) by using software such as the excellent Belarc Advisor
(linked from the favourites page of my web site)

If it's an OEM version, the number may be printed on a Certificate of
Authenticity.

Which in turn might be located on the bottom, of the PC
itself.

Probably not. The Windows COA is usually pasted to the CPU, but not the
Office or Works (Suite) COA.
