Pack and Go Problem

T

Trevor Williams

When I create a pack and go file it creates a PPZ file. My PP Viewer only
allows me to load files with a suffix of PPT, PPS or POT. Any ideas where
I'm going wrong?

TIA

Pack and Go also creates an EXE file in addition to the PPZ file. You
need to double-click the EXE in Windows Explorer in order to unpack the
files (including the PPT file it contains) so you can get to the PPT/PPS
file.

Any idea where the EXE file is put? I can specify the location where I want
the PPZ file to go but there is no sign of an EXE file there.

Thanks

It is put into the same folder where you created your .ppz file

When you use pack and go two files are created. One is
called PRES0.PPZ and the other is PNGSETUP.EXE. The *.PPZ
file is a compressed version of the presentation that
includes all resources and fonts necessary (if you chose to
pack those). To be able to view the presentation first you
have to unpack it using the PNGSETUP.EXE executable. Run
that first, it will ask you where to unpack your
presentation. Once you do that, one of the unpacked files
will be your power point presentation *.PPT. That you can
open with power point.
