P5N-T Deluxe

downloaded the manual for the P5N-T Deluxe and was thinking of 4gig Ram this
time. In chapter 2-13 it says that if using Vista or XP 32bit they recommend
using less than 3gig of RAM. Anyone tried 4gig and found any problems, or
would the extra 2gig be a waste of space?

I believe that 32 bit Windoze can only address 3 GB of RAM, so 1G would
be wasted.

A 2x2GB configuration of RAM is so cheap, I would not worry about any
lost bytes. Someone was asking a question like this a couple posts ago,
and the price of 2x2GB was about $70 or so after rebate. So screwing
around with some four stick configuration or other, just doesn't make
sense.

In terms of electrical loading, 2x2GB is only two sticks, meaning the
bus is lightly loaded. And there is also good air circulation around
the memory modules. I found my module temperature went up, when there
were four modules with heat spreaders installed. I think the heat
spreaders actually made things worse, because there was less room
for air movement.

HTH,
Paul
