The BIOS is based on AWARD 4.51-PG.

On the previous board the card was set as: I/O=220h, IRQ=5, DMA=1, High-DMA=5
I tried setting the "used by ISA" IRQ5, DMA1 and DMA5 to "Yes" and to "No/ICU". No effect.

DIAGNOSE.EXE fails when trying to detect the I/O setting.

Got two other SB16 value cards to try. Same problem (in any of the 2 ISA slots).
DIAGNOSE.EXE says "Error: Base I/O Address Setting"

Please help!

What OS?
I have a computer with Win 98SE that required going into Device
Manager in Windows and setting the sound card to be on IRQ 5,
DMA 1, high DMA 5 before it would work in DOS mode. This was
even after disabling the Plug 'n Play in the BIOS. For some
reason the motherboard or Windows or whatever wanted to put
the ISA sound card on IRQ 10 by default and it had to be
forced off in Device Manager. Otherwise no sound in DOS mode.

Get a copy of CTCMBBS.EXE. It might still be available from Creative's
WWW site (www.soundblaster.com). Run it to extract all the files from it.
Run the "CTCM" command to configure your PnP SB16.
