I've got the settings below in the BIOS and I never see the ctrl+I prompt, but that isn't the problem since i can load the raid utility from a floppy, but in it I only see one drive even though both are connected. When i try each one individually it shows up so I don't think the connection is bad. Can anyone help

Onboard IDE Operate Mode [Enhanced Mode]
Enhanced Mode Support On [S-ATA]
Configure S-ATA as RAID [Yes]
Serial ATA BOOTROM [Enabled]

You also need to go to "Advanced " and "OnBoard Devices Configuration" and set the
"OnBoard VT6410 RAID Controler" to enabled.

I don't have the (OnBoard VT6410 RAID Controler" to enabled) listed in
advanced and onboard device configuration. Do I need a sata drive plugged
in to see this?? I also never see the controller in device manager and the
intel application accelorator rai dedition refuses to install since the
controller is missing. I have the latest 1014 bios installed. What am i
missing? Is there a jumper on the mobo i need to set or is my sata
controller shoot right out of the damn box.

Under the bios, if you have both SATA and Parrallel ATA drives, you must
select :

Enhanced Mode Support On [S-ATA + P-ATA]

Not sure under RAID, but i know that :
Onboard IDE Operate Mode [Enhanced Mode] = Native to
Win2k/XP.........Win NT / 98/ME are legacy to the ENHANCED MODE.
Use the COMPATIBLE MODE.

I have been caught out by this trying to boot a CD up from a floppy and
wouldn't detect the CD-ROMS till I cut the SATA mode out. Sort like that.
