P4P800 Is the led at the LAN plug supposed to be lit all the time?

Its connected to a router, but this is the first MB I've had that
has an led and also the first one that has caused the routers'
led to be lit all the time, even with the computer off.
The bios setting for wake on lan is turned off.
I'm not worried, just curious.

LED at LAN means wire is connected to something. The LED on your router is
on because the network card is getting some power from the 5V Standby power.
