P4P800 Deluxe Memory Config

If I build a system with the P4P800 Deluxe and a Hyper-Threaded P4 processor
and start with a matched pair of 256MB DDR400 PC-3200 ram chips, can I later
add another two DDR400 ram modules from a different manufacturer? From what
I've read in this newsgroup, "different" DDR400 memory chips cannot be mixed
on the P4P800 and still maintain optimal memory performance. What
constitutes "different" here? If the chips are all PC-3200 or better, is
that good enough? One example, if I start with 2 Kingston 256MB DDR400
PC-3200 chips and later add 2 Transcend 512MB DDR400 PC-3200 chips (for a
total of 1.5MB of ram) will that combination still achieve optimal memory
performance?

If you can find identical make of your existing ram chips, you should do it.

It's most important that you have matched pairs, you don't necessarily need
all four to match - another matched pair should be OK.

However it's recommended to get four identical sticks if you plan to use all
four slots..
