P4P800 Deluxe beeps with USB devices connected

Dave

Need a little help. My p4p800 deluxe mb beeps on start up with USB devices
connected. The number of beeps directly relates to the number of devices
connected. Only printer connected = one beep, printer and scanner = two
beeps, etc. These are short consecutive beeps that occur during inital
posting. They don't seem to effect performace, just curious as to why, and
can it be controlled? I've tried the USB setting in BIOS, like turning off
high speed USB, enabling legacy support, etc. with no change. Haven't been
able to find anything in the manual.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Dave.

Dave ... those beeps are there by default in earlier bios's. Download the
latest bios (1014) which eliminates that 'feature'.

Thanks Guys! At least I know it's not just my machine, sounds like others
have experienced it as well. Unfotunately, I am running the latest BIOS
1014. Maybe a fix on one of the next BIOS releases? If it is a BIOS issue,
guess I'll have to live with it until/if ASUS fixes it, unless you have
another suggestion?

Thanks again!

Dave.

I had the exact same problem. After flashing the 1014 bios, the board
would still beep for every usb.

A good fellow in this group suggested that I had to reset the bios to
defaults
after flashing and that did the trick.

That did it!!! Reset the bios to default settings and no more beeps!
Thanks to all that took the time to respond.

I was having the same problem until I read this thread. Thanx to whomever
posted the fix.
