P4P800-Deluxe and Antec P-160 case -Front USB

T

tip

The BIOS is set to the proper number of USB's.

I assume the 2 front USB's are bridged somehow because there is only 6
USB wires not 8. (only one PWR and one GRND)
I can't seem to get it to work.

Anyone have this case and insights as to the front USB connections?

Thanks in advance

PS the front audio's work.

Yes, 6 wires would be the minimum requirement. Power and ground are common
to both ports. Sometimes the connectors at the motherboard end of the cable
aren't labeled correctly. But are you using a USB 2.0 device to test with?
Antec is notorious for not supporting USB 2.0 with some of their front panel
ports. You may have to call them for an updated replacement port board.

I set up the same sytem for my son. The sytem isn't here so I can't verify
the details physically. As I recall there was one clealry labelled 7 pin
header for USB 5/6 that directly connected to the MB and could only go on in
one direction. I didn't test to see if it was actually operating as USB2.0
or 1.1 although he has been using to download pictures from a digital
camera.
