K8N-E Deluxe if I can remove the jumpers so I can use my microphone
and headset from the front without disabling the rear (5.1)speakers.
If any of you have conquered this jewel I'd appreciate your response.
What I want is bopth, the front head set and the rear speakers.

1. Connect the MIC connector to the microphone power pin.
2. Connect the MIC-BIAS connector to the microphone input pin.
3. Connect the AUD GND connector to the ground pin.
4. Connect the FPOUT-R connector to the Front Right Speaker Out Pin.
5. Connect the FPOUT-L connector to the Front Left Speaker Out Pin.
6. Connect the RET-R connector to the Rear Right Speaker Out Pin.
7. Connect the RET-L connector to the Rear Left Speaker Out Pin.
Notice that the instructions above, reverse the connection
of MIC and MIC_BIAS. The instructions in the manual are
attempting to correct for the wiring error in the design of
the product. In case your microphone doesn't work when connected
as shown here, it could be that the currently shipping product
has fixed the wiring error. In which case, you'll want to wire
MIC to MIC2 and MIC-BIAS to MICPWR. If your microphones are not
electret type mics, you don't need to wire up the MIC-BIAS
wire, if you want. The MIC signal is supposed to be on the
TIP of the 1/8" stereo plug, while MIC-BIAS is supposed to
be the middle contact on the 1/8" stereo plug.

With the above shown audio wiring to the FP_AUDIO header,
your case will support headphones in the front and speakers
on Lineout, on the back of the computer. Plugging in the
headphones in the front of the computer, will mute (disconnect)
the speakers in the back. Both will not run at the same time.
If you really want both of them to work, you will need to find
a way to short Line_out_R to BLINE_OUT_R, while leaving the
FPOUT-R wire connected to the header. That is tough to do,
unless you have experience with wiring electronics. You would
probably have to make a small cable assembly to do that. (Asus
made a motherboard once, where the two jumper plugs were located
on a separate header, and that motherboard makes it dead easy to
have both front and back active simultaneously. But, since that
probably costs Asus another $0.05, it was removed.)
Antec is infamous for wiring errors on front panel cabling.
The one to watch for, is the Firewire port, as if the port
is miswired. your expensive Firewire devices could be damaged
by plugging into the case front Firewire port.
I recommend testing the wiring of the Firewire port,
by downloading a picture of the pinout from the Internet,
and then use a multimeter to prove the labels on the wires
correspond to the pins inside the connector. On one of my
Antec cases, TPA+ and TPA- are swapped. TPB+ and TPB- are
swapped.
If the Antec case really has correct wiring, you would
wire it like this. Any ground can be used for VG. Either
+12V pin can be used for VP. I presume Antec is using
the single ground, for power return, and for the shields
on the data pairs.

Don't use an Antec case connector, unless you've verified
the wiring! No need to damage a $1000 camera, when there is
a perfectly good Firewire connector on the back of the
computer. (The fact that the manual documents a wiring
error in the audio wiring, should be sufficient warning
of their skill at case wiring assemblies.)
