Well i have put a new system together and i am happy with it but the
overclocking has me at a loss. My system:
P4C800-E
3.0 800fsb
80 gb. WD 7200 HD
1 gb. pc3500 golden dragon duel channel mem. (geil)(512x2)
turbolink 420watt psu
TT volcano 7+ cooler
Ati all in wonder 9700 pro
dvd
cdrw
Everything runs great but i can't get it to go past the 10% overclock
in the bios with everything else set to auto. If i go past the 10% it
will not boot or lock up when windows xp pro starts to load. If i try
the 30% i get the "system can not boot due to overclocking" (voice
reporter).

Does anyone out there now what i can do in the bios to get this to go
higher then 3.3ghz? any help would be great and thanks to those who
reply.

I think this is just a limitation of an air cooled 3.0C; give or take a
few points here and there.

I've got a 3.0C on a P4C800-D w/ OCZ PC3700, and it's my CPU holding me
back. My idle temps are sweet, but I can't get anything stable past
225FSB on this CPU irrespective of any voltage encantation. I think the
3.0C just isn't as tolerant of overclocking as the 2.4C/2.6C is.

I'm almost ready to snag a 2.6C and sell my 3.0C just so I can get the
most out of my ram without dealing with the CPU getting fussy.

Don't forget 2.8C it's superstable with 20% overclocking on this mobo.

Probably true, but I feel just a tad safer traveling down the path
already taken. Of all the reviews I've seen, it seems the 2.4C does
better generally than the 2.6C or 2.8C.

Either way, I'll be in better shape than I'm in now in terms of high FSB
to max out my ram and stay stable.

I did get the 3.0ghz. to run at about 3.5ghz. i even tried with the
voltage up to 1.7 and still did not boot with 20% overclock. This
realy sucks that it can't go higher. I know it is not the mem. because
my buddy has the same mem but with a 2.4c and he has no problems with
an overclock of 30% with everything else to auto. Well it is off to
see how high i can go today.
