Overclocking 3gig chip on p4c800 deluxe

Hi all,

I have managed to overclock 10% my P4 3gig 800fsb 512 L2 cache
to 3.3 gig on the asus p4c800 deluxe board but cant go any higher using
the percentage settings in the bios due to lockups.

Is it possible to get this chip a bit higher using the stock fan/heatsink
and if so how?

any help to an overclocking newbie appreciated.

mem is 2x512 corsair ddr3200 btw.

thanks

nige

Hey dude,

I also have a Intel P4 3.0 GHz Northwood processor and I also have the Asus
P4C800 Deluxe motherboard. It will only overclock 10%. Any higher an it
won't even boot up. I have 1 gig of Corsair XMS PC3500 memory so I know the
memory will overclock better than 10 %. I have read that some people have
overclocked them to 3.7 GHz but I don't believe it. Anyway mine runs sold at
10% so that's were it's been for about a year.

I overclock my 2.8 Prescott to 3.64 with rock solid stability. Have
bumped the chip voltage to 1.5.
