I am building a new system and I'm not sure which chip
to get. I can either get a P4 3.4 gig w/ 2MB cache *OR*
a P4 3.6 gig w/ 1MB cache.

Would it be better to get the faster chip w/ less cache or
the one with more cache but slower chip?!?

The MB is the Asus P5AD2-Premium.

Thanks!!

Personally, I'd go for the extra cache. I'm fairly certain you'll see
better performance from that chip.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Get the 3.4GHz chip it has the extended 64 bit instructions so will run XP
PRO64.

The L2 cache is a huge performance booster.

For example...the difference between celeron and Pentium(basically same
difference between athlon and duron) is just that...on-chip cache...and we
all know which one is a much better performer :)
