p3 atx PC acts like an AT

Hi
I put together a PC using an old ASUS P3B ATX mobo
with Win2000.
Everything is fine, but on shut off, it won't automatically
shut down like an ATX mcahine.
Instead I get an "It is safe to shut off your PC" AT like
message and I have to hit the power switch.
I have never seen this before. Can I resolve this??
Thanks

I have a p3v4x that did this since I had built it. Just a week ago I
reformatted a SCSI drive and instead of setting it as a primary dos
partition I made it extended...Tada, shut off like it should have.

This can because by power saving settings, what you have set the 'switch'
to...soft off - standby - off, drivers for NICs that have 'wake on' ring-LAN
etc.or just about anything.

Yup...

Control Panel, Power Managment, APM, tick enable APM box.
