P2P problems

I use p2p file sharing programes often from my home
computer and up until a few days ago they worked fine. At
first i blamed it on zone alarm because it was installed
around the same time and a friend told me it would make
it impossible to file share. I love z.a. and i don't want
to get rid of it! I personaly don't beleive my friend and
i would like to prove him wrong....can anyone help? When
im downloading files on p2p they start out just fine, then
suddenly freeze, then they will reconnect. This slows file
sharing to the point that it's not worth doing....please
and thank you in advance for your suggestions.

You are a FOOL to use P2P software and are leaving yourself open to; litigation, Trojans,
Worms, Viruses and hacker backdoors.

Please go to one or more of the below online scanners and perform a scan of your platform
then report back your results.

What does your friend use?
Does your friend use a firewall.
No firewall is not an option.
Try a different firewall like Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall.
At least just a short time to help verify the issue.

Otherwise you should check with ZA to see what the fix may be.
You possibly need to configure the firewall differently.

Your anti virus application may be carefully scanning everything thus
slowing everything down.
This is good since P2P file sharing is a major cause of a large number
of performance issues.

You need a firewall and AV application.
I suspect your friend has neither.
