Overzealous "not responding" timeout?

Often on quitting Word 2002 Vista has taken to telling me that Word has
stopped working - and kills word off.

I don't actually think it has stopped working at all - the prompt is almost
instantaneous - but I'm curious as to whether there is any registry setting
that can be adjusted... some heavy duty macros don't have event handlers (to
speed them up) and I would like to be able to adjust the "not responding"
timeout value.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Maybe Word has been damaged. Try uninstalling Word and reinstalling again.

Just FYI.
